Gozzo Strategy & Campaigns was launched in May of 2019 by Jeff Gozzo. Gozzo Strategy & Campaigns provides strategic campaign, media and public affairs guidance and management to elected officials, campaigns, and organizations.
With over 25 years of success in California politics, Jeff Gozzo is one of the state’s most accomplished and respected political consultants. His career spans more than 100 local, state, and federal campaigns, with a track record of winning some of California’s most competitive and consequential battles—both at the ballot box and in the Capitol.
In the 2024 cycle, Jeff led the statewide campaign for Proposition 2, securing voter approval for a $10 billion school bond and outperforming public polling by a wide margin. That same year, he served as general and lead consultant to Congressman Adam Gray’s winning campaign—the closest and final-decided congressional race in the nation, and the only House seat in the country flipped by Democrats in a district carried by President Trump.
Previously, Jeff directed the winning 2022 campaign for Proposition 1, placing abortion rights into the California Constitution, and served as senior advisor for the successful No on Proposition 30 campaign. He also helped elect Sacramento’s first Asian American District Attorney, Thien Ho.
Jeff’s influence extends far beyond the campaign trail. As Director of the California Senate Democratic Caucus and a senior staffer to two Senate Leaders, he played a key role in building the largest Senate Democratic majority in California since 1883. Earlier in his career, Jeff served as Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to Ted Lieu during his transition from the California State Assembly and his time in State Senate—helping advance high-profile legislation and shape Lieu’s rise in California politics and beyond.
His leadership helped shape and pass landmark policies including mortgage reform, the state minimum wage increase and LGBTQ civil rights protections.
Widely regarded as a go-to California political fixer, Jeff is known for solving problems others can’t—whether it’s navigating ballot measure minefields, flipping tough districts, or building coalitions that move complex legislation from idea to implementation.
Jeff holds a B.A. in Politics and History from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He lives in the Sacramento area with his wife and two daughters and is a Pollie Award winning member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
